I manage and work in a large space called an Atelier, similar to an artist's studio or maker space. Children visit the atelier to explore and extend their ideas through clay, paint, light and countless other languages.
The atelier is in a constant state of flux. I regularly rearrange the space, creating dynamic invitations to explore, and value the space as a third teacher for the children. This work extends beyond the atelier as I also support teachers in laying out and setting up their classrooms. I also source the materials, tools, and run all the sessions and workshops that take place in the atelier.
Throughout the year, the children focus on the use of materials as languages to share ideas and communicate. These can be standalone or larger scale projects which influence the atelier's environment.
As the founding Atelierista at Ruamrudee International School, I had the opportunity to establish the atelier and implement the space as part of the Early Childhood department in August 2025.
I believe in building connection and best practice by sharing spaces and ideas. Through social media I have been able to meet other educators and artists, both in person and online.
